API keys and test mode

Test keys start with phb_test_ and finish an invite from a fixture. They do not call Stripe or the screening service.

Test keys let you practice the invite flow without a charge or a screening call.

Who it is for. A developer building against the API.

  1. Open API from the dashboard and create a test key. Copy it once.
  2. Send X-PHB-Test-Outcome: clear, records_found, or unverifiable.
  3. The invite appears on the status board with that fixture outcome.
  4. Revoke a key when you no longer use it. A suspended account receives 403.

The 61st request in the same minute returns 429 and a Retry-After header.
